Costco Wholesale Corporation is the fourth largest retailer in the United States and operates membership warehouses that sell a wide range of products with a low-margin, high-volume philosophy. As at February 17, 2008, Costco Inc. operated 385 warehouse clubs in the United States, 75 in Canada, 19 in the United Kingdom, four in Puerto Rico, six in Korea, five in Taiwan and seven in Japan. Costco Wholesale Corporation operates an additional 30 warehouses in Mexico under a joint venture.
