Summary
The City of Calgary is the hub for Canada’s oil and gas industry and is the main business centre of western Canada. It is also the gateway to the Rocky Mountains and, as a result, is a prime tourist destination. The City of Calgary is one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the country and had a population of 991,759 in 2006.
