Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. is a global producer and marketer of cars and light trucks, with facilities in Japan, the United States, Spain and the United Kingdom. Nissan is Japan’s third largest auto maker and is ranked sixth globally. In March 1999, Nissan formed an alliance with Renault of France, resulting in Renault acquiring a 36.8% stake in the Company. In March 2002, Renault raised its stake to 44.3% (current ownership stake is at 43.4%), and in turn, Nissan bought a 15% interest in Renault. In April 2010, the Renault-Nissan Alliance formed a strategic cooperation with Daimler.
