AltaGas Ltd. began operation on July 1, 2010 as a successor to AltaGas Income Trust, which in turn began operation on May 1, 2004 as a successor to AltaGas Services Inc. AltaGas Ltd. operates in the following business segments: (1) Power Generation (40% of 2009 pro forma EBIT); (2) Natural Gas (60%), composed of (a) Extraction and Transmission (40%); (b) Natural Gas Distribution (13%); (c) Field Gathering and Processing (3%); and (d) Energy Services (4%).
