DBRS hosted a teleconference, Tuesday, May 8 at 2:00 pm EDT, to discuss its decision to place the ratings of The Thomson Corporation (Thomson or the Company) Under Review with Negative Implications. This follows the Company’s announcement today that it has initiated discussions which are expected to lead to a transaction to acquire Reuters Group PLC (Reuters) in a cash and equity transaction (50%/50%) for roughly $19 billion ($14.09 or ₤7.05 per Reuters share). The new entity is expected to be named Thomson-Reuters.
The call will be led by DBRS Managing Director Paul Holman and Senior Vice President Chris Diceman.
